Tabula Alba workshop 3 on dialogic teaching

On behalf of TELLConsult we ran the third, 5-day Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) workshop for the Comenius Regio Project 'Tabula Alba', the final week of September, 2014. 

As from the needs analysis three topics stood out (crucial aspects of teacher behaviour & IWB file design for interactivity and collaborative learning) I developed a week's programme with the following main themes: Dialogic teaching & learning, Collaborative learning and professional development.

iTILT team successfully applies for ErasmusPlus project grant

While packing to go to the 2014 EuroCALL conference here in the Netherlands we heard the good news that our ErasmusPlus project application has been successful. It will allow the iTILT team to extend its research on IWBs in Language Education to more classroom technologies such as tablets.

TELLConsult invited to do the external evaluation of EU project PETALL

As TELLConsult was invited to be the external evaluator in the EU project 'Pan European Task Activities for Language Learning' (PETALL) we attended the project's kick-off meeting, early July at Faro University, Portugal. 

In his presentation the project coordinator, Antonio Lopes, summarised the project as follows:
 
PETALL is an LLP transversal KA2 project, funded by the European Commission that aims to encourage the use of ICT-based tasks in the language classroom.

Recording of webinar on EU IWB projects available
On 27 Feb we ran a webinar to present the outcomes of 3 EU projects addressing teacher competences development related to Intractive Whiteboard (IWB)-supported teaching and learning. Having been involved in two of these projects (iTILT and SmartVET) as a partner and as trainer in IWB course developed by the CPDlab project, part of the iTEC project 'Designing the Future Classroom' run by the European Schoolnet, we presented the resources and training materials

TELLConsult at TKEY HIL project kick-off meeting at Udine, Italy

The second half of week 11 we attended the kick-off meeting of the EU project 'TOOLS FOR  LEARNING EU KEY COMPETENCIES IN HIGH INTERACTION LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS ' TKEY HIL' . Aims of this Leonardo Transfer of Innovation project are to innovate traditional teaching methods, which nowadays are still too focused on rote learning, through an effective use of digital technologies: IWB applications combined with concept/mind maps and other HIL tools (High Interaction Learning). This project regards the application of these technologies applied for the development of the European Key competences

First 5-day IWB course in Comenius Project Tabula Alba

On behalf on TELLConsult, having been invited by the project coordinators of the Comenius Regio Project Tabula Alba 

to develop and run the professional development programme on the integration of IWB into classroom teaching, most of my time in November was spent on preparing a first 5-day 'IWB in Education-workshop' planned to be run in Opole in Poland.

Latest news on Erasmus+ from Dutch EU National Agency

TELLConsult concluded the September / October period by attending an information session on the Erasmus+ programme for principals and managers of institutions of primary, secondary and adult education organised by the NL European Platform organisation. 

The information provided was most topical as presenters passed on the latest developments on the Erasmus programme definition gathered on a special session organised by the EU in Brussels for all national agencies and ministries. However, as provider of Comenius courses many questions I had could not be answered yet. E.g.
